Field Session (Referee / AR Mechanics)
Youth Referee? Volunteer Youth that are interested in learning to referee can
attend the 8U official course, it is recommended that the youth is 1 or 2 years
older than the division game they are Refereeing. This helps players to learn the
rules of the game and be a volunteer in a community activity.
The referee’s job is to be the official in charge of the game. A referee’s authority
extends to everyone at the field, including players, substitutes, team officials,
spectators, and even assistant referees. AYSO Referees keep the game safe, fair
and fun for everyone: the players, the coaches, the spectators, and themselves!
All Volunteers must check in before going to class.
